Training: Your training will include a combination of hands-on learning and with teammates
Duration: Approximately 16-24 weeks
Training Location: Indianapolis Pharmacy
Schedule: 9:00 am -6:00 pm
Evaluates/triages incoming fax prescriptions to ensure timely and accurate entry into pharmacy operations system. Routes incoming calls to appropriate department/individual. Receives, processes, and follows-up on refill requests.
•Triage incoming fax prescriptions to ensure timely dispensing
•Ensure proper notes in computer and cycle fill coding.
•Accurately enter prescriptions into operating system to eliminate errors at dispensing
•Courteously respond to calls from customers, routing them as appropriate to ensure top-level service
•Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth workflow in data entry department
•Ensure all prescriptions assigned for processing are completed in regular shift
•Receive, evaluate, process and follow-up as needed with doctors’ offices on all refills assigned
•Notify facility and lead customer-service tech if product is out of stock and when delivery will be made •Notify customer service lead tech when any medication cannot or will not be delivered as expected
•Assist with filing of completed orders, packaging of medications, profiling of orders for medical records, and filling processed prescriptions to dispense to the patient
•Print MARS for next delivery and print monthly MARS
•Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
•Current and active Indiana Certified Pharmacy Technician license required 2+ yrs. of CPhT experience
•6 months Pharmacy experience, preferably in long-term care, hospital, retail setting, high volume setting is preferred
•1+ Pharmacy Order Entry/Data Entry Long Term Care (LTC) experience
Experience or Willingness to Learn:
•Accurately mix and compound medication in a sterile or non-sterile environment
•Maintain and clean the compounding and IV rooms
•Maintain efficient use of TCGRx system including canister stock and routine machine maintenance
•Scanning labels and correct medication into QS1 operating system
•Comply with USP <797> Regulations
•Responsible for compounding Sterile products in a Class 100 clean room as directed by Pharmacists, IV Supervisor, and/or Director of Pharmacy.
•Responsible for data entry and to assist the pharmacist with calling nursing home for refill orders.
•Works under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, fills prescriptions and prepares Sterile Compounds
Flexible schedule required:
•8 hr. shifts, rotating schedule with the pharmacy team, which includes some weekend hours
•Ability to work assigned shift punctual and on-time
•Normal 8 hr. schedule between the hours of 9:00 am - 6:00 pm M-F; Possible Saturdays and occasional overtime
•May require standing and moving for extended period during an 8-hour shift
