    JOB OBJECTIVE:  Evaluates/triages incoming fax prescriptions to ensure timely and accurate entry into pharmacy operations system.  Routes incoming calls to appropriate department/individual.  Receives, processes and follows-up on refill requests.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Triage incoming fax prescriptions to ensure timely dispensing
    • Ensure proper notes in computer and cycle fill coding.
    • Accurately enter prescriptions into the operating system to eliminate errors at dispensing
    • Courteously respond to calls from customers, routing them as appropriate to ensure top-level service
    • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth workflow in data entry department
    • Ensure all prescriptions assigned for processing are completed in a regular shift
    • Receive, evaluate, process and follow-up as needed with doctors’ offices on all refills assigned
    • Notify facility and lead customer-service tech if the product is out of stock and when delivery will be made
    • Notify customer service lead tech when any medication cannot or will not be delivered as expected
    • Assist with filing of completed orders, packaging of medications, profiling of orders for medical records, and filling processed prescriptions to dispense to the patient
    • Print MARS for next delivery and print monthly MARS
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

     

    TRAINING/SKILLS:   

    •Current and active Indiana Certified Pharmacy Technician license required
    •2+ yrs. of CPhT experience

    •6 months Pharmacy experience, preferably in long-term care, hospital, retail setting, high volume setting is preferred

    •Good computer skills, including pharmacy operations systems

    •Excellent verbal communication skills

    •Excellent interpersonal skills
    Ability to problem solve, make decisions in a fast-paced environment, and work to deadlines

    •Ability to work assigned shift with no tardiness

     

     EDUCATION:  High School diploma or G.E.D required

     

    Flexible schedule required:
    •8 hr. shifts, rotating schedule with the pharmacy team, which includes some weekend hours                                
    •Ability to work assigned shift punctual and on-time
    •Normal 8 hr. schedule between the hours of 9:00 am - 6:00 pm M-F; Possible Saturdays and occasional overtime
    •May require standing and moving for an extended period during an 8-hour shift
