    Job Objective: 

    To deliver vital day to day support to the Billing Department

    Responsibilities: 

    • Ability to perform basic functions within pharmacy software system
    • Enter new patient demographics into pharmacy software system
    • Assist in processing rejected claims
    • Re-bill claims to appropriate plan and process any necessary paperwork
    • Process price quotes 
    • Process discharge patients
    • Work collaboratively with co-workers to ensure all deadlines for department are met in an efficient manner
    • Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed
    • Entering of demographics and insurance in the system
    • Maintenance/billing of insurance on accounts electronically
    • Processing prior authorization and calling for refill requests and formulary changes
    • Answer incoming calls and provide customer support for responsible parties and /or patients
    • Ability to research and resolve rejected claims from the insurance
    • Assist insurance plans, Doctors, nurses when they call with questions
    • Daily reconciliation report

    Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.

    Preferred:  National Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and licensed with the Florida Board of Pharmacy

     

    Requirements: 

    • 2+ years of experience in billing function, preferably in pharmacy related business
    • Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred/required
    • Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
    • Ability to solve problems with minimal direction
    • Great attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
    • Ability to problem solve, critical thinking, make decisions in a fast-pace environment

     

    Shift: Rotating Schedule
