    We are looking to fill 2 Lead Pharmacist Positions - 1 day shift and 1 night

     

    Overview:

     

    Under the direction of the Pharmaicist-in-Charge (PIC) and the Chief Operating Officer (COO), assist with the overall management of the pharmacy. Manage workflow to ensure timely and accurate completion of orders with the goal of meeting or exceeding customer expectations.  Work with the PIC to promote a positive and professional workplace and to ensure the highest quality of clinical and operational service.  

       

     

    Essential Job Functions (include the following): 

    • In the absence of the PIC, direct all staff
    • Work closely with technician Team Leads to meet daily goals including, but not limited to, ensuring all prescriptions are filled and dispensed accurately, and meet scheduled delivery runs
    • Work closely with Operations Management Team to continually evaluate and improve work processes
      • Lead Process Improvement team
      • Lead Quality Assurance team
    • Reassign resources as needed to relieve pharmacy operation bottlenecks
    • Assist in the daily direction of pharmacists, interns, and externs
    • Work with Director to orient new staff and provide ongoing professional development training and coaching (pharmacists and technicians)
    • Accurately and effectively perform the functions of a Staff Pharmacist (PV1 & PV2) to include: review physician orders, evaluating drug regimens, accurately preparing meds for final dispensing, etc.
    • Ensure the order intake process is followed properly, including for controlled substances
    • Work with Director of Pharmacy/PIC to properly document and reconcile controlled drugs in house
    • Work with Director of Pharmacy/PIC to evaluate CII inventory levels and place orders when appropriate via CSOS – on exception items identifying most cost-effective product to order
    • Work with PIC to maintain compliance with all California and Federal pharmacy laws and regulations
      • Serve as an informtaion source regarding medication and Federal and Sate pharmacy regulations
    • Act as a liaison when appropriate between the pharmacy and the facility when problems need to be resolved
    • Answer questions from patients, doctors, nurses, etc.; be the go-to rsource when the questions are more difficult or complex
    • Assist with all areas of customer relations
    • Be available to work with pharmacists to ensure their full understanding of all operational issues
    • Work with the PIC to troubleshoot opeartional issues brought to the attention of the pharnacy by communities
    • Serve as communication liaison between Executive Management Team and pahrmacists on tactical and operational issues
    • Work with the PIC to maximize the use of pharmacy resources (for example: DocuTrack, Framework, DOSIS, TCGRx
    • Work with the Director to complete annual reviews of staff pharmacists
    • Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed

     

    Education: 

    • Bachelors degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy or PharmD
    • Valid State of California Pharmacist license; excellent understanding and working knowledge of pharmacy compliance

     

    Requirements: 

    • 3+ years of Long Term Care pharmacy experience
    • 2+ years experience in a lead/supervisory role in high-volume pharmacy setting
    • Good leadership skills and demonstrated ability to direct professional/ technical staff
    • Good organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail
    • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and work to deadlines
    • Experience in high-volume pharmacy operation
    • Good computer skills; demonstrated PC proficiency; and demonstrated pharmacy systems experience
    • Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
    • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
    • Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate

    Flexible Schedule Required: 

    8-hour shift

    Hours of operation are subject to change based on the needs of the pharmacy
